Rainy Day Vintage FAQs

Rainy Day Vintage FAQs
Whether you’re collecting a one-of-a-kind canvas, commissioning a custom finish, or exploring creative community, here are answers to the most common questions I get. If you don’t see yours here, feel free to reach out—I’m always happy to chat.

Do you ship furniture and canvas?

Yes—I ship anywhere in the continental U.S.

  • Smaller canvas pieces ship via UPS or FedEx and are carefully packed, stretched (not rolled), and fully insured.

  • Furniture and larger canvases are delivered through a trusted white-glove courier. Delivery timelines range from 2 to 8 weeks, depending on your location and his route.

Where do items ship from?

Everything ships from my studio in Noel, Missouri.
Creative kits or paint supplies may occasionally ship directly from a manufacturer or partner vendor.

Do you offer custom work?

Yes—on a limited basis.

  • Furniture commissions are available when my schedule allows.

  • I also accept a small number of custom canvas projects each year. These are deeply personal and designed in close collaboration with the collector.

If you’re interested in a custom piece, please reach out early to check availability.

How do I reserve a custom piece?

To reserve a furniture item or canvas commission:

  1. Contact me first to discuss availability and vision

  2. A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your place in my schedule and covers materials

  3. We'll have a consultation (in person, by phone, or Messenger) to finalize details

  4. The remaining balance is due upon completion

Pickup or delivery must be arranged within 14 days of completion.
After that, a storage fee of $10 per day will apply unless we've made other arrangements.

If no contact is made within 30 days, payments will be forfeited, and I may resell the piece. I’m always willing to work with you—communication is key.

Can I make changes to my custom piece after we start?

Changes are welcome before work begins.
Once we’ve started, any change requests must be mutually approved and may require additional cost or time.

What if my furniture piece needs repairs?

Minor repairs discussed during the consultation are included in the price.
If new issues arise mid-process, I’ll reach out with options and a revised quote before moving forward.

Do you paint solid white or plain finishes?

I don’t offer flat or solid white finishes.
My work is rooted in layered textures, color, and story. Neutrals are welcome—when they bring depth, movement, and meaning.

Do you restore furniture to a raw wood finish?

I don’t strip or restore furniture to bare wood.
That said, I sometimes incorporate stained tops or faux wood finishes to bring warmth and contrast into the final design.

Where can I see your work in person?

I participate in select gallery and art events throughout the year, including:

  • Art on the Border in Fort Smith, Arkansas (each July)

  • Occasional retreats and creative collaborations—watch my site or email updates for announcements

Studio visits in Noel, Missouri are available by appointment only.

Do you offer workshops or creative teaching?

Yes! I host in-person workshops in my studio that focus on painting techniques, creative play, and permission to explore your own artistic voice.

I’m also preparing to launch Brave in the In-Between—a faith-rooted, online creative group for women who are ready to take up space, create from grace, and grow in the middle of the mess.

Fine Art Prints: For Collectors

Are your prints originals or reproductions?

All prints are professionally reproduced from my original canvas work. I carefully photograph and prepare each one to maintain the layered detail and painterly texture of the original piece.
These are not mass-produced or drop-shipped—each print is created and packaged with care.

What sizes do your prints come in?

Most prints are available in standard sizes such as 8x10, 11x14, and 16x20.
If you’re looking for a custom size or need help choosing the right format, just reach out. I'm happy to guide you.

Will the print look exactly like the original?

While I do my best to represent each piece accurately, colors may vary slightly depending on your screen or lighting.
Prints capture the depth and color of the original, but no two pieces are identical—and that’s part of the magic.

 Can I return a print?

All print sales are final unless the item arrives damaged.
If your print arrives with damage, please contact me within 3 business days with photos, and I’ll do my best to make it right.

Can I get a digital download instead?

I do not currently offer digital downloads of my artwork.
Every print is produced to protect the integrity of my original pieces and ensure quality control.

Artist Printing Services (RDV Prints): For Artists

RDV Prints is the name I use for the fine art printing services I offer to fellow artists and creatives. It’s part of Raine Gardens and Rainy Day Vintage, LLC, and it allows me to keep client printing services separate from my original art offerings while still providing a personal, hands-on experience.

I specialize in archival giclée printing using pigment-based inks on fine art paper—ideal for small-batch, gallery-quality prints with heart.

How do I submit my artwork?

You’ll receive a private upload link to send your print-ready files.
I do not scan or handle original artwork.

Your image must be:

  • High-resolution

  • Free of glare or shadows

  • Cropped to show only the artwork (no background edges, hands, etc.)

Modern smartphones (like iPhones) can work well if taken in natural lighting. If you're unsure, I'm happy to offer insight before you upload.

Do you print without approval?

No. I never print without your approval.

Once you upload your file, I’ll confirm it’s ready, send any preview edits (if requested), and wait for your sign-off before moving forward. Your file, your control.

Do you edit images?

Only by request.

I do not color-correct, clean up, or alter files unless you specifically ask me to.
Edits must be:

  • Approved in writing

  • Paid for as an additional service

  • Previewed before any printing begins

Will the colors match my original artwork?

Because I do not scan or view your original in person, some color variation is expected.
I print exactly what you submit, using monitors that are professionally calibrated to Pantone color standards—so I see true-to-print colors.

Most phones and laptops naturally have blue-shifted displays, which means what you see on your screen may look different from the final printed result.

To help you choose the best paper and understand how colors behave, I offer paper sample kits.

What’s included in a sample kit?

Paper sample kits include pre-printed swatches using my own artwork so you can see:

  • How each paper type absorbs ink

  • How colors appear on textured vs. smooth surfaces

  • The difference in tone and depth between paper finishes

🛑 Note: Sample kits are not printed with your artwork. They are for evaluating paper and color behavior only.

What are your setup fees?

  • Art print setup: $17.50 per image per size

  • Greeting card setup: $5 per image per size

You’ll only pay this once for each file + size combination. Reprints later are easy—no extra fee.

Do you offer cards?

Yes! I offer fine art greeting cards with:

  • Blank interiors

  • Premium matte cardstock

  • Minimum order of 12 cards per design

Optional:

  • Add your logo, QR code, or artist blurb to the back

  • Must be provided via upload—I do not write bios, choose fonts, or generate QR codes

River linen archival paper is available by special request for a small upcharge.

 Do you print with borders?

All prints are borderless by default.
If you request a border, the printed image will be reduced slightly to fit within the selected paper size.

How does billing and shipping work?

  • A digital invoice will be sent after your file is approved

  • Full payment is required before printing

  • Shipping is invoiced separately after packing (based on size, weight, and materials)

  • All packages are shipped with tracking

  • No refunds are offered once printing has begun

What’s it like working with you?

I treat your work with the same care I give to my own.
You'll hear from me at every step—file received, print approved, packed, and shipped. I'm here to make sure your first (or fiftieth) print order feels easy, clear, and trustworthy.
